Who Comes In for Deep Tissue Massage

Our deep tissue massage clients come from every corner of Littleton and the south metro. Here’s who we see most.

Desk-bound professionals

Upper traps, levator scapulae, forearm, and suboccipital work for headaches, neck pain, and tension from screen time.

Chronic lower back pain

QL, glute medius, piriformis, and psoas work to address the real drivers — not just the sore spot.

Postural overload

Thoracic spine, pec minor, and anterior shoulder release to undo the forward head and rounded shoulders pattern.

Post-injury rehab support

Working with your PT’s plan to release compensatory patterns and restore tissue quality.

Heavy lifters and manual workers

Trade professionals, contractors, landscapers, and anyone whose job loads their body hard every day.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage

Why our Littleton clients choose deep tissue massage for pain relief and recovery:

  • Breaks up adhesions and restores glide between muscle layers.
  • Decreases chronic pain by addressing the source, not just the symptom.
  • Improves posture and reduces the forward-head/rounded-shoulder pattern.
  • Relieves tension headaches and TMJ discomfort via cervical and masseter work.
  • Increases circulation in stubborn, chronically tight tissue.
  • Supports better sleep — deep therapeutic work downregulates the nervous system.

What to Expect: Our Process

Every session is assessment-driven and customized. Here’s how it works.

1. Pain-point consultation

We map exactly where you hurt, what movements trigger it, and how long it’s been going on.

2. Progressive pressure

Deep tissue means deliberate, sustained pressure — we go to ‘good hurt,’ never past it. You’re in control of the dial.

3. Integration

We end with broad strokes and stretching to reset your nervous system. You walk out looser, not bruised.

Licensed Therapists. Real Results.

Every therapist at Breathe Massage & Fitness is licensed by the State of Colorado and trained specifically in therapeutic work for active bodies.

We’re not a spa. We’re a therapeutic massage studio for people dealing with pain, recovery, and performance goals. Our clients come to fix problems — and they come back because it works.

Deep Tissue Massage FAQs

Does deep tissue massage have to hurt?

No. The goal is effective, therapeutic pressure — not pain. There’s a ‘good hurt’ where tissue releases, but we constantly check in. If it’s white-knuckle painful, we back off.

Will I be sore afterward?

Mild soreness like a good workout is normal for 24–48 hours. Drink water, move gently, and it passes. If anything feels wrong, call us.

Deep tissue vs. sports massage — what’s the difference?

Deep tissue is about chronic tension and pain relief. Sports massage is about athletic performance and recovery. They overlap, but the goal is different.

Can I get deep tissue if I’m pregnant or injured?

For acute injury or pregnancy, we recommend consulting your provider first and booking a different modality. We want you to heal, not push through.

How soon will I feel better?

Most clients feel significant relief immediately. For chronic pain patterns that have been building for years, plan on a series of 3–6 sessions every 1–2 weeks to really shift things.
